PROTOTYPE GLASS SLIDING DOOR-TBWA/CHIAT/DAY NYC
GAETANO PESCE c.1994
A sliding door prototype by Gaetano Pesce, designed for the 1994 TBWA/Chiat/Day office in NYC. The asymmetrical painted frame bursts with color - red, orange, blue and violet swirl like an abstracted sunset. Two edges are cut freehand, creating abstracted forms that appear like rolling mountains turned on their sides or even figures. In the center, a pane of clear glass adds contrast and calm. This piece reflects Pesce’s belief that each objects should feel alive, acting as a sort of portal to another dimension.
