TBWA/CHIAT/DAY OPEN MOUTH LOCKER SCULPTURE
GAETANO PESCE c.1994
Created by Gaetano Pesce in 1994 for the NYC TBWA/Chiat/Day office, these pieces were originally locker doors for employees - the only assigned space each person had in the entire office. Made with varying colors and gestural markmaking techniques from the hands of Gaetano Pesce himself. Each has a tiny opening cut to create a handle, paired with the lock above they all appear to be looking sideways with their mouth open.
