TBWA/CHIAT/DAY SYMBOLIC LOCKER SCULPTURE

GAETANO PESCE c.1994

This sculptural relief was originally a locker door at the 1994 NYC TBWA/Chiat/Day office designed by Gaetano Pesce. With no assigned desks or offices, employees stored their belongings in these vibrant, painted lockers - each one entirely unique - and the only assigned space.

This locker is the most true to Pesce’s ethos (and humor) as it features an incoherent pairing of a roller blade with a cane. Hues of yellow and orange create the overall environment while aqua and green highlights are used more sparingly.
